What is an affiliate foundation?

To give Northeast Georgians outside of  Gwinnett County access to the services and benefits of a community foundation, our staff helps other areas develop their own community foundation in affiliation with the Community Foundation for Northeast Georgia (CFNEG). The affiliate foundation is locally led, locally governed and directed toward local needs.  CFNEG serves as fiduciary and provides technical assistance and guidance.

Who benefits from the affiliate foundations?

Residents within each county benefit from the endowment funds created within their local community foundation in two major ways: (1) by grants awarded to support education, human services, the arts, children and health care in their respective counties; and (2) by having easy access to a vehicle with maximum tax advantages through which gifts can be donated and placed in a permanent endowment for the betterment of their communites.

Who manages each affiliate foundation?

A local board guides each affiliate foundation, with technical assistance and support services provided by the Community Foundation for Northeast Georgia.
