Q&A with Board Member Brand Morgan

We recently started a new series featuring our board members. We hope you enjoy learning more about one of our newest members, Brand Morgan, CEO of Brand Properties.

CFNEG: What’s your favorite memory of growing up in Gwinnett?
Brand: Playing for the Lawrenceville Black Nights when I was seven years old against Norcross for the recreation league championship.

CFNEG: What do you enjoy the most about your career?
Brand: The people I get to interact with daily.

CFNEG: Why is being involved in the community important to you?
Brand: Being involved in the community makes me happy. I believe giving back to the community that has given me everything I have is a necessity.

CFNEG: What do you want people to know about the Community Foundation?
Brand: It a safe place to give that knows all the philanthropic efforts of our community. Plus, the Community Foundation can help fundholders give their resources in an appropriate manner.

CFNEG: What do you hope to accomplish as a board member of the Community Foundation?
Brand: My goal as a board member is to better understand the philanthropic pulse of our community and help raise awareness for good causes that need our support.

CFNEG: Why should people give through the Community Foundation?
Brand: They are the educated facilitator of the non-profit world. They know who is a good steward of the dollars they receive so that our contributions make the biggest impact in our community.

CFNEG: Do you have any hobbies/interests?
Brand: I enjoy traveling with friends and family and hunting the outdoors.

CFNEG: Tell us about your family.
Brand: We have four children ranging in ages from 3 to 11. I am proud of each of them and amazed by my wife Jennifer.

CFNEG: What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
Brand: My first job was as a sailing instructor.
