Meet Board Member Wayne Ellison

Not only is he a graduate of Leadership Gwinnett, he’s also president of the Gwinnett Rotary Club, a mentor at Stripling Elementary School, a board member of Rainbow Village, owner of Ellison Insurance Agency and more. Keep reading to learn more about Wayne.

CFNEG: Why is being involved in the community/giving back important to you?
Wayne: This is where I live, have raised a family, built up a business and will probably retire.

CFNEG: What do you want people to know about the Community Foundation?
Wayne: I want people to realize the impact the Community Foundation has had on our community as well as the concern it has shown over and over again.

CFNEG: What do you hope to accomplish as a board member?
Wayne: I appreciate the opportunity to be part of a group effort to better our community. Together, we can accomplish more.

CFNEG: What other causes are you passionate about?
Wayne: Along with serving on the Community Foundation’s board, I am also passionate about racial equity, early childhood learning and food insecurity.

CFNEG: What do you enjoy about your career?
Wayne: As someone who gets to help, I enjoy helping clients with difficult situations and providing solutions.

CFNEG: Tell us about your family
Wayne: I am married to Khady and we have three children: Greg, Chris and Jalen. We also have a dog named Pilar.

CFNEG: What are your interests?
Wayne: I enjoy traveling and reading

CFNEG: What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
Wayne: I sat with Jerry Jones and Al Davis and watched the Super Bowl

CFNEG: One positive thing you’ve realized from the COVID-19 pandemic?
Wayne: The value of family time.
